:bulletblue:Tips:

Start with a fresh clean face. Next, apply moisturizer and face primer. The primer can be skipped if you don’t want to spend a few extra dollars, but it will help your makeup stick and blend more evenly. Apply lip balm to protect lips from drying, then a little extra primer around lips to make sure makeup transitions smoothly and doesn’t crack later.

Now you are ready to apply makeup. There are a lot of liquid and cream makeups i have seen people use; I use Ben Nye. My makeup is a 1:1 blend of Ben Nye Creme Colors FP-112 Grey and Ben Nye Creme Foundation P-1 White. This mixture may look a few shades too dark before it is set and fully dry, but dries to the right color.

Smear the makeup on with a makeup sponge or wedge. The first layer will probably go on a little bit thin or streaky…

Add a second layer with a stippling (dabbing) motion and gently drag the sponge to even out the application.

Add a darker shade of makeup on the contours of your face. I used some of the grey i saved before mixing my makeup, but its not quite dark enough. I would recommend an even darker shade as the creme makeups blend very well (I need to buy some of the Steel Grey).

Blend black lipstick with the creme makeup on your lips. Then blend soft black eyeliner around the eyes and in waterline (to eliminate the human “pink” of your skin and to hide flaws in makeup around the eyes) and around lips for contrast.

Apply transparent (clear) powder! EVERYWHERE! No, seriously, bathe in that shit. This will fix your makeup so it will last longer and dry it so that is doesn’t get on everything.Remember, more is better; you can gently brush off the excess later with a powder or kabuki brush.

Ok now your face should be dry. The shade should now be a bit lighter (it will continue to lighten a bit as the layers dry further and settle.) Add black or dark grey eyeshadow all around your eyes and extending out to the bridge of your nose. Remember, even though it may look ugly at this stage, trolls have dark-ringed, sunken-in looking eyes.

Add blue eyeshadow above the eyes and blend it into the black/dark grey a bit. Add blue eyeshadow to the lips as well.

Add a darker shade of blue eyeshadow all the way around the eyes (like eyeliner) and around the lips (like lip liner).

Add bright blue mascara. I used Hard Candy’s Peacock Blue.

Phew! The hard part is over! Fix your hair or add a wig. Add glasses and horns. (optional: add fake teeth if you have them)

Find yourself some dramatic lighting and snap a pic or two. :::; )
